Ghostwriter

Advantage Media Group and ForbesBooks have an exciting opportunity for a Ghostwriter with experience in book writing and editing in the Finance sector. ForbesBooks works with top tier business professionals to position, promote, and market them as the thought leader and expert in their industry, community, or marketplace.

The mission of the Ghostwriter is to take a client participating in our ghostwriting program from an outline to a final draft of a manuscript ready for copyedit. The Ghostwriter will achieve this goal by proactively engaging with our clients, writing, editing and managing the editorial content through our ghostwriting process.

The outcomes expected of this individual are:

  • Ensure the completion of 20 ghostwriting projects annually. You will organize, plan and manage the execution of the ghostwriting process. This requires excellent communication skills and an ability to manage changes in timing and scope.

    Assist Editorial Manager in 10+ “Editorial Stuck” projects annually. Ghostwriter will work with Editorial Manager to provide additional editorial support for clients that are stuck in the editorial process.

    <2% of all editorial steps repeated. Guarantee editorial excellence in all manuscripts.

    NPS Score of >50. Assist your account team in delivering world class service and creating an “Enjoyable, Fun, and Prosperous membership experience” for each client.

  • Teamwork. Reaches out to peers and cooperates with supervisors to establish an overall collaborative working relationship.

Preferred Skills and Experiences:

  • Minimum of three years book ghostwriting experience
  • Exceptional writing, editing, grammar, spelling and communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Word and Track Changes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a highly creative and senior level clientele

Minimum of five diverse examples of your ghostwriting work must be submitted along with your application. Examples must be a minimum of 1,000 words each. Submitted materials will only be used for qualification and review purposes.

This is not a freelance position and will be based in our Charleston, SC office. Team Members are eligible for benefits package after a 3-month review.
