Vice President of Operations

The mission of the Vice President of Operations is to build and execute a scalable business growth plan for 10x revenue over the next five years. Strategic planning and regular evaluation of the required people, technology, and systems for growth are critical to the success of the organization. Reinforcing a results oriented, fast-paced culture, accompanied with training and systems, will drive success.

The ideal Vice President of Operations (VPO) is a fluent strategic planner and day to day operator, capable of long term forecasting with a bias for action. The VPO has a mindset of continuous performance improvement, proactively training the entire organization on SOPs for best in class service. He/she must be a “coach” of both direct reports and “culture champion” for all Team Members in order to drive change initiatives and adoption of corporate strategy. The VPO is a high level executor, capable of leading multi-phase initiatives and achieving quantifiable results through others.

The VPO identifies critical areas of improvement across all functions of the business using data and financial insight. To drive organic growth, the VPO will oversee the shared services department of IT, HR, R&D, Internal Communication & Events, as well as facilitate strategic planning sessions for leadership. To drive growth through acquisition, VPO will lead external due diligence and integration of any new business lines. The VPO translates the “how” and “when” of the vision for all to see a clear path to success.

Outcomes (expected within the first 12 months):

  • Achieve quarterly business unit performance targets by co-creating and executing process improvement initiatives. Align and engage business unit leaders to optimize delivery team workflow with consistent performance reporting rhythms to hit critical milestones toward growth.
  • Ensure >75% of the organization delivers on quarterly priorities. Create visibility to KPIs and train managers on weekly coaching techniques for results.
  • Increase the average Revenue/Team Member companywide to greater than $225,000 per team member.
  • Improve our voluntary A Player turnover rate to <10%. Seek daily feedback and insights from the Team Members to drive retention, improve engagement and promote and grow talent from within.
  • Reduce Rework/Refunds to < 2% of Cash Revenue. Improve service excellence through training, systems, and smooth change management to ensure a positive membership community experience.


  • Ability to hire A Players. Sources, selects, and sells “A-Players” to join the company.
  • Ability to develop people. Coaches people in their current role to improve performance, and prepares them for future roles.
  • Calm under pressure. Maintains stable performance when under heavy pressure or stress.
  • Strategic thinking/Visioning. Able to see and communicate the big picture in an inspiring way. Determines opportunities and threats through comprehensive analysis of current and future trends.
  • Organization & Planning.  Plans, organizes, schedules, and budgets in an efficient, productive manner. Focuses on key priorities.


  • Able to create and optimize systems and processes that optimize a business for future growth
  • Track record of metrics driven decision making, using analysis to make system improvements
  • Excellent people management skills, including recruiting, training, evaluations and goal setting for other team members
  • Previous Executive Team and leadership experience
  • Four Year College Degree required, Masters or MBA preferred

Position is in Charleston, South Carolina and reports to the CEO.
